1.The tournament will run from the 10th April 2022 until the 25th September 2022.
2. Entry is free to all paid up Shenley archers, including beginners, but is not compulsory.
3. There are 4 nominated rounds that must be shot at least once each to qualify.
4. The rounds are :
St Nicholas – 4 dozen at 40 yards and 3 dozen at 30 yards. 5 zone scoring
WA Standard round – 3 dozen at 50 meters and 3 dozen at 30 meters, 10 zone scoring
AGB Metric 4 round – 3 dozen at 40 meters and 3 dozen at 30 meters,10 zone scoring
AGB Metric122-30 – 6 dozen at 30 meters, 10 zone scoring.
5. You can shoot the rounds in any order, as many times as you want and only your highest score for each round at the end will count.
6. This is a handicap competition, so all archers will have an allowance for every round. The handicap system will ensure that everyone is on a level playing field. To explain:
Archer A has a handicap of 30 and Archer B has a handicap of 70.
When Archer A shoots the St Nicholas round, their allowance for the round is 696.
When Archer B shoots the St Nicholas round, their allowance for the round is 1044
Archer A scores 742 (slightly below what their handicap would suggest) for the round, so with the allowance, their total score will be 1438 (742 + 696)
Archer B scores 398 (so above what their handicap would suggest) for the round, so with the allowance, their total score is 1442 (1044 +398)
7. The system will (or should) eliminate any advantage of age, gender, experience or bow type between archers.
8. To acquire a handicap, you must submit 3 scoring rounds (from any recognised WA or AGB round), which includes the 4 rounds of the tournament. So by entering the tournament, you will get your handicap.
9. As your scores improve, your handicap will go down (0being the best it can get) and it will be your handicap on the 25th September that will be used determine your final placings.
9. You must stick with the one bow type for the tournament, and only one bow type per archer is allowed. So no entering as a barebow and as a recurve.
10. A leader board will be produced occasionally.
11. Only score sheets correctly filled in and signed will be accepted and must be handed in within 2 weeks of the round being shot. Any which do not meet this criteria will be rejected.
12. The final date for submission of a round will be October 9th (2 weeks after the 25th September).
13. All decisions by me on any issues will be final.
